“I love how unified this social media era gets when calling out ignorance around mental health however it still baffles me how this space is still so toxic and the negative impact the bullying can have on some’s mental health.”

So many people "mostly men" I have seen literally harassing, bullying and abusing people here on social media and in real life for unlimited reasons are today lecturing us on mental health isssues. — "Do you even realize how deeper your harsh words impact others?"

Someone said:
"Not fair to generalise it although, I do agree with you that more men are abusive and bullies then women but there is a good % of women who do it too!" — Bullying, harassing, undermining, criticising, discrimination are some of the causes that can cause depression in anyone.

Those who abuse are the victims of ideology, theory, state system, etc. Abuse begins when arguments end and no courage to accept the superior perception, the failure to observe own inner thought process and falsely developed built-in reactionary thoughts.

Bullying of any kind is unacceptable and has a huge impact on the victim's mental health no matter what anyone else tells you, no matter how much they put you down, you are amazing, you are good enough, you are worthy and you deserve better.

Being a victim of bullying is traumatic, that fear of being bullied isn't a joke — that's a painful truth and how could a bully be proud of what they did. The impact of bullying will have long term impact, not just physical but mental health nobody wants to be bullied.

  • bullying people online is not okay
  • abuse people online is not okay
  • don’t ever try to humiliate them
  • don’t make up stories about them
  • think about how your actions may have an
  • impact on people’s mental health
  • be kind to each other and use your platform wisely

People use social media as a way to vent and say whatever they want to say regardless of who is on the other end of the phone, we’ve lost the sense of using social media for connecting with friends, catching up, voicing our beliefs and there’s no doubt about it. I’ve had things written about me.

It’s a much wider issue and we need to take a much wider approach to tackle it going forward whether you have got 50 or 100k followers, the way people chat to each other these days can be so horrible. No one should have to tolerate bullying in any form but there a number of steps that can be taken to tackle it online.

Here’s my advice...

  • report it to the apps
  • tell someone — confide in someone that this is happening
  • put the phone down — it’s hard to do but step away from your device
  • unfollow people — if you don’t want them to know there are ways you can mute them
    block abusive behaviour or comments

For men, they can feel uncomfortable talking to someone they know but there are other places to turn.”

I was bullied during my first and mid-school, it was old-fashioned name-calling basic moron shit and sometimes it would be physical which is why I’m so avidly against bullying but for young people now it’s happening at school and then when they get home it continues. It’s a toxic environment.

HOW TO DEAL WITH BULLYING?

No one should go through it, we have the right to a happy childhood and adulthood. It’s not weak to seek support, for young people now it’s happening at school and then when they get home it continues. — "It’s a toxic environment.".

Bullying can have a big impact on your mental health, find out more about what you might be feeling and how you can get support also ways to help yourself feel better.”

I wish our society could understand the impact of bullying on someone’s mental health and their self esteem and how wrong it is.
